Surprise! ! !

On Friday I came home from work and all I wanted to do was get into bed and sleep. I caught a cold earlier in the week and had been dragging ever since so I wasn’t feeling like doing much of anything. Before I had time to change out of my work clothes my neighbor was outside my door yelling for me to quickly come and help her open a strange package she had found at her house. I was a little confused as to why she couldn’t open the box herself, but I knew she liked to play jokes – like the time she put mushrooms on my car- so I just assumed she was up to something like that again.

What I expected was for her 5 year old son to jump out and throw something at my face, but it wasn’t her son who was hiding in the box instead it was my girlfriend Kyoko who had flown in from Tokyo that morning to surprise me. The flight itself took an hour and forty-five minutes while the transit from the airport to my house took another two hours. It turns out many of my friends had know Koko was coming to visit for over a month and they had kept a secret the entire time. I was really surprised! She will be here for ten days before going back to Tokyo where she start her job as a Junior High School English teacher.

Other news – I have been working on my blog lately and although it is moving really slow I am making progress. Hopefully, I will soon have a photo blog running on my site where I will be uploading all of those pictures that I have been meaning to upload. Also, if you are viewing my page in Microsoft Explorer then chances are you may not be able to see the sidebar that it supposed to run along the right side of my page. I’m working on this too. Oh, and if you can help me get the picture in my banner to the right of my page and aligned with the text I'll mail you a post card from Japan. Just to be fair, if anyone else wants a post card from Japan then mail me one first and you'll have one on the way.
