Happy Mother's Day! ! !

Today is Mother’s Day so I’d like to begin by saying Happy Mother’s Day to my mom and then to any other moms who may be reading this post. Because moms are pretty cool I thought it might be nice to share with you a bit of mom trivia. Although it wasn't easy I have narrowed the list down to 5 exciting mom facts.

1) The first Mother's Day observance in the US was a church service honoring Mrs. Anna Reese Jarvis on May 10, 1908.

2) Many of the sweaters worn by Mr. Rogers on the popular television show, Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, were actually knitted by his real mother.

3) A female oyster over her lifetime may produce over 100 million young.

4) Mark Twain said, “My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it.”

5) My mom is the BEST MOM IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!

On Friday at Shishijima Middle School we didn’t have regular class hours as we spent much of the day outside sketching pictures of the island. It was great sitting outside in the sun with the kids and I forgot how much I enjoyed drawing. The first picture below is the one I am working on. If I ever finish then I’ll let you have a look.

After school on Friday Curtis and I had some friends over for a grill out and because we had such a good time we did it again the next night too. Also, since I got a bit carried away when shopping for the first cook out we had tons of food left over so we thought, why not?

I have to cut this post short as I have to run out to the store and get a birthday preset for my friend’s party tomorrow so have a great day and I’ll see you really soon. I'll leave you with this picture - take a look at Mio Chan, She's adorable.

Best,
Spencer
