the countdown
In just a few hours I will be boarding a bus towards the airport. My first stop will be in Tokyo where I will spend one night before flying home to the States.
Yesterday, after carefully packing my suitcase until it was full and heavy I celebrated by going out to dinner with friends. After returning home late into the evening it dawned on me that the weight restriction for my luggage domestically (from Kagoshima to Tokyo) would be less than the international leg of the trip. In the midst of thinking about the flight home I forgot to be mindful of the first flight.
I checked JAL’s homepage and learned that for domestic travel in Japan one’s luggage cannot exceed 15 kilograms. My suitcase weighed 24 kilograms. It wasn’t fun, but after a couple of hours trying packing, repacking, and using different variations of suitcases I worked it out. Now, my carry on weighs exactly 10 kilograms and my baggage to be checked weighs 13.8. I'm oficially ready for the flight!
Have a good day and I will some of you shortly. Enjoy these pictures below:
