He's going the distance. . .

|

I woke up yesterday at 5:00 a.m. and after eating a solid breakfast and gathering my gear I got on my bike and hit the rode. My challenge: Bike to the opposite end of Nagashima, board the ferry for Shishijima, (a nearby island) bike its circumference and then bike back home. The entire way there and back is one hill after another so I knew it wouldn't be an easy task, but because I plan on biking several hundred kilometers over spring break I needed to test my stamina to see how far I could safely push myself. The good news is that because I was able to make it there and back alive I now have a little more confidence in my ability to bike for several days. Thanks to my sweet Cateye Enduro 8 I was able to keep tabs on all sorts of good information along the way. Check it out!

Total Distance : 68.49 Kilometer (km) = 42.6 Miles
Average Speed : 15.5 kilometers/hour = 9.6 mile/hour
Max Speed : 57 kilometer/hour = 35.4 mile/hour
Total Time : 4 Hours 23 Minutes 3 seconds 5 milliseconds
