Kentucky Farm Boy

With spring just around the corner I am really looking forward to getting outdoors! Playing outside with my neighbors, having barbeque parties beneath the cherry blossoms, and spending time in my garden are just a few of the many things that I want to get into this spring.

Actually, when it comes to gardening there is one thing that I just quite haven’t figured out. My problem is that I never know what I should wear while gardening as I don’t really own any sturdy outside work clothes here in Japan like I do back in the States. What usually happens is that I end up losing to Mother Nature and getting my good clothes messy or getting sunburned across my face and the back of my neck simply because I hadn't been wearing the proper clothing. Often times I think to myself, “If only I had some good ole’ Kentucky Farm Boy clothing then things would surly be different. . .” Just a pair of CE SHMIDT denim overalls and perhaps one of my grandpa’s Mallory Stetson straw hats along with a red bandana would be enough to make me happy. But honestly, where would I get my hands on anything like that, especially since I live in the countryside of Japan?

And then, as if they had read my mind and knew how I was feeling the entire time, a mysterious package shows up on my doorstep from no other than my grandparents in Kentucky. And can you believe what was in the package? An OBAMA bumper sticker!! But then, after digging a little deeper within the package I discovered something incredible – something that would take care of my gardening problems forever! Thanks again Nanny and Poppas!!
